Results Week 3

I have decided I dont like Wednesday to be my weigh in day!!!
I am going to make it Tuesday! hehe

Yesterday I was 111.6
But the official weigh in for today is
112.2

Bumma!

Tuesdays nights I dont get time to do any exercise
as I have a meeting that usually runs late
and I dont get time when i get home.
But that will be done in 3 weeks and I will be able to work out on a Tuesday
so weigh in Wednesday might start improving!

Injury Strikes

*Insert sad face.
Im devo'd!

I have injured me knee.
I have torn something on the inside of the knee that holds the knee in position.
It goes from the inside front around to the back.
I forget what its called.

I went to see a lovely Doctor today
and he did the same thing last week!
Without even telling him what I had done, he nailed it in one.

I told him that I had recently restarted exercising.
He said you cant run on the treadmill this overweight as it causes too much damage to the knee.
He sees it all the time.

So I have to rest it for a week,
and then not get on the treadmill!
I have to get a bike and exercise on that.

But thats ok.
I've been researching and I will develop a little strength training myself this week
that wont hurt me knee.

And then I should have a bike here by then and I will jump on that.
he told me to get some decent shoes, which I have ordered, but hasn't arrived yet.

Its so disappointing though that this happened.
There should be some kind of little side point that running on the treadmill while overweight will likely cause injury because there have been a number of people suffering the same thing from the treadmill.
The Doctor said, when I go back to running, just do it on the grass.

Cross my fingers that I can have that weeks rest though,
considering I am a fulltime shop keeper/owner,
Im not seeing much opportunity to put the feet up!!

The Results from a weekend away!

The Results are in after a weekend away....

As the previous post mentioned,
I went to Soundwave on the weekend.
This weekend was about spousal and parental bonding,
not about my music tastes, so lets just clear that up!! haha

Here is Metallica!
From 7.30 - 11 I was subjected to their screaming screeching confusing music!

But, on a healthy eating front,
its all good!

Although doing a trip away is hard, its hard to find good food in the city!
We are country people, food is easy to find,
but in the built up cities, even pulling in a McDonalds is impossible!!!

Saturday was ok,
I had luch here before i left and took what snacks I had with me.
I thought if worst comes to worst, I can just eat my snacks!
Had a muesli bar for afternoon tea
and then went to the restaurant attached to the motel for tea.
It was Deepka Indian Restaurant!

I thought I would just order veges, all restaurants have veges!
So I looked through the menu to confirm, yes they have veges in their dishes.

The waiter came in and took our order,
Can I have a plate of cooked vegetables please?
No, we dont have vegetables here?
You dont serve vegetables in your retaurant?
No we dont.
But there are vegetables in the dishes?
No, sorry no vegetables.

Ok, can I please order the scotch fillet (I would eat half) and a salad.
Salad consisted of Lettuce and 3 large thick slices of cucumber.
it was pretty yummy actually, the steak was cooked beautifully.
So I ate a small portion with my lettuce and cucumber and all was right with the world
Breakfast on Sunday I had planned to have a yogurt at Maccas.

I asked Stu to stop at a Maccas on the way to the concert.
Nope, didn't stop anywhere!
You couldn't get out of the traffic, no wonder there are so many accidents in Sydney!
We got to Olympic Park at about 12 noon.
Thank goodness I still have a muslie bar left, so I ate that about 11.30 giving up on Yogurt!

So I tried to find something for lunch at the Soundwave Thing.
Lots of fried food, and lollies and things..
I did find some kind of wrap thing.
It had capsicum, and some sort of thin meat with lots of lettuce.

It was a big lettuce weekend for me!
So I had half of one of those.
Drank water...

All good.

Tea time!
There was nothing!
Hunger was really starting to get to me!
Choices were so limited in the arenas.
I chose a chicken and lettuce sandwich - Yum.
More bread and more lettuce.

And then I spotted the Krispy Creams!
Now being a country girl, I have ever only SEEN Krispy Creams 3 times!
So I had to get us all one.

And I admit I also have an ice cream during the day.

It was so hot and sweaty
my shirt was soaked all day from sweat!
I sweated more just standing then I did while working out!!
I walked up a million or so flights of stairs and down again!
All with an injured knee!!!
Walked like a million and a half kilometers around the stadiums!
Then when it was over our car was parked on the 7th floor,
so along with the other 200,000 people finding their car we took the stairs!!!

Jumped on the scales the morning I got home and it was all good!
Jumped on them again this morning and it was even better!!!

Lets see what tomorrow brings.
I think all that exercise saved me from those bad choices!

But its Tuesday now and all is back on track!
I must admit, even for me, I am so proud of my food choices!
I am being very mature and very honest with myself
and I know I can see myself in this for the long haul!

Good on me!

First Big Test!

Its been an amaising week so far with weight loss
considering I have done something to me knee!
Its all swollen and very think to bend and lift!
I know its from the running on the treadmill with inappropriate footwear!

So I am a little anxious about ruining such great weight loss progress with
a weekend away!
Tomorrow we are heading to ........

Yep!
Kinda worries me, but this old woman wont rule out anything to have some fun!

We are leaving after work tomorrow.
Staying Saturday and Sunday Night in a Motel.
Soundwave is on Sunday.
And then home Monday!

No real opportunity for Super Saturday workout!
And no real "appropriate meals" on the adgeda!
I just have to make the best choices with what is available!

I wont consume empty calories by drinking though.
I will use the opportunity to consume lots of water

Maybe I can use the "headbanging" as an opportunity for a workout??
Idea maybe?

But I will let you know the results on Tuesday and then we will see the actual results on Wednesday!

Wish me luck!

On a side note though:

This week saw too really great milestones!
1. My arse fits in a chair!!! (This is massive! I even gave a demonstration to my scrapbook class!)
2. I fit into the jeans I was wearing 2 seasons ago!
I cant believe I can see such great milestones only after 1 1/2 weeks!!
Way to go Michelle Bridges!

I am, I am pleased!
Good on me!

Focusing on the Positive

I dont feel that crash hot
and as positive as I have since I started today.
I dont know why?
Feeling kind of depressed!
Its when Im in these kinds of moods I have to be careful
as I am a huge emotional eater!

But when you are in this negative state,
its hard to remember why I am doing what I am doing
and not just scoffing down some wine with cheese & bikkies!

Ive been doing the Running Training these last few nights
and I dont have proper shoes!
My left knee is carrying some fluid, I can feel it in there when I try to bend it.
So I will have a couple of days off that.
Maybe thats what is making me feel down!
Just as I am ready to enter week 2 of Running Training and I have this minor setback?

Not to worry though,
I just have to stay positive and focus on my achievements so far!
I'm being organised which was my biggest concern!
Not once have I not been organised enough to feed myself one of Mish's awesome meals!
And I move alot more freely than I was.
Physically I feel really great!
And I know its early days, but my clothes are feeling looser!

Weight in day tomorrow..
I was 113 this morning!
Im hoping to drop a little more by tomorrow!
Wish me luck!

Inspiration Board

As part of the 12 WBT Challenge
there are Weekly Challenges.

Week 1 that challenge is
Create an Inspiration Board.

I am fairly new to Pintrest,
but I thought this was a great way to create a place
to store my inspiration in
Pictures
and
Words.

There are many reasons for my wanting to loose weight
and most of them come from some kind of inspiration!
I am inspired to be adventurous in my old age!
I want to achieve awesome fun things before I am too old to!

I want to continue to be inlove with my husband as I get older
and not get caught up in being too heavy or ugly to enjoy his love in return!
(You know what I mean!)

I want to travel and experience great thrills!

And I know I am not alone in my journey!
With the help of Michelle Bridges 12 WBT Challenge
other obscenely overweight people have also achieved success,

I know with determination,
persistence
organisation
and good time management,
I will join those success stories!

My face will feature as a great transformation!

I know I can do this!

Super Saturday Session

I discovered  on the 12 WBT Challenge site
the learn to run exercise program!
I have always wanted to learn to run, but not just run,
I wanted to be fit enough to enjoy the run,
not just for weightless
but for pleasure!

Is there such a thing as running for pleasure?

Ive always wanted to be able to do that, since I was young.
I never could really when I was young,
although at school I did compete in the long distance events,
so at some point I must have been fit enough to run.

Maybe I just didnt appreciate it at the time!
I do remember competing in the Cross Country Events
and running the whole event.

So maybe the potential is there.....

Anyway
Here in Gunnedah we have an annual event called the
Gunnedah Gallop.
You can the do the 3 km run or the full 8km course.

I did compete one year in the 3km course and came really close to last!!
Hehe how embarasement!

I am thinking that this might be a great way to get fit enough to run in this event.

I did used to run 5kms when I was training several years ago!
But it was a push and I didnt enjoy it!
I want to be fit enough to enjoy it!

So I am going to do Michelle's run training program
and see it i can endevour to get fit enough to enjoy running!

For the Super Saturday Session.
I did my first 20 minute training session for running,
but I actually did 30 minutes!

And then I did the regular at home training and I tell you!
I was exhausted!!!

But its good! I felt good for doing the 30 minute session.
I will up the anti next Saturday!

Hopes and Dreams

OK, I confess I don't cook! I did cook, I cooked for 23 years! But since I've started working full time in my own shop Hubby cooks the meals as he likes his meal at 6pm and quiet often Im not even home by then.
So he cooks!
You ask him, he is a legend cook! He totally does rock the hooded barbeque!
I've now been making my own meals since Sunday when I started preparation,
I must say, its really relaxing to do the whole meal preparation thing when I get home from work rather than collapsing on the couch with a bottle of wine and cheese & Bikkies and obviously much better for me!
Its really amaising to me that I think I might be able to do this!
This week was my "mega" week with Valentines Day! Three weeks normal trade in 5 days, so its been late nights, early starts and then the start of Michelle Bridges ontop of it all. And I must say I am so proud of myself!! I can see myself doing this this time round.
I can see myself achieving my goals, so much so that tonight I have been on the internet planning my first big weight loss reward to myself! Travel to Cairns to do the AJ Hacket Bungy! Originally I was thinking I would after I got under 100kgs, but now I am thinking that when I get to 90 I will do this. If I get to 90 around end of June, this will be my reward to myself!
20 weeks to loose 22 kilos! I think that might be doable! Im sure of it! I will be there! Time to start saving some cash! Then by June 2014 I want to have reached my goal in weight loss and fitness because I have a mega daredevil holiday planned to NZ where I want jump off, and out of everything! I want to do a helicopter drop and ski down! How awesome will that be! And for a 46 year old woman by then I am totally going to have to be mega fit!
No more wishing for me, Im gunna do this! Im going to live my life and achieve everything I have always wanted to do!

Day 1 - Sore already!

Just taking things one day at a time...
Meals went well.
I didnt get home from the shop til 6.15 and then greet the family
and cooked my meal
prepared tomorrows meal as I have a meeting at 7pm.
I did the Video Workout!
OMG I am sore already and its not tomorrow yet!
Aren't the videos fabulous!
Mish didn't have those last time I did the challenge.
So much easier!
I can do it whenever and wherever using my Ipad!

Start Round 1 2013 Fitness Test.... or unfitness...

I did my fitness test on the cross trainer.
It doesn't mention to use it on the program,
but I figure I set my own pace, not like a treadmill and really its all about measuring results.
I can measure my results more accurately on that.

Time Trial : 8.3mins
Push Ups on Knees: 23
Abdominal Strength: 59 secs on Knees
Wall Sit; 1.1o mins
Sit & Reach: -8cm.

The sit and reach surprised me, I've always been fairly flexible!
The last time I did the time trial i did it in over 10 minutes,
the the ground here is up and down which I thought a more accurate measurement for fitness improvement would be the cross trainer.
Push Ups, my husband bet me 21, I just had to beat that!

Looking forward to seeing how things improve.

Ive done my weekly shop,
Ive cleaned out the fridge and cupboard.
I will prepare what I can in advance of an evening to take to work the next day and for my meal the following night.
2 nights a week I have to have a quick meal as I teach a Scrapbook Class
and also have a Ball Meeting on the other night.

Organisation will be the key to this journey!
One I hope I can stay on for a very long time, until the journey is normal anyway!

For the purpose of bearing all...

Here is the true damage:

Weight: 115.2kgs
Bust: 120cm
Waist: 106cm
Widest: 142cm (Yikes)
Thighs: 72cms
Arms 43cm

(Im kinda regretting making this blog public now.....)
But you gotta start somewhere!

Reflections

I was just posting in the 12 wbt forum and it really got me reflecting.

I've totally let myself down.
There once was a time when i was so close to achieving my goal.. so so close.
I had been on another program for 2 years and lost 35 kilos.
The program I was on wasn't that great but due to being told what to eat when and having it placed infront of me, it worked for me!
I was walking to the local lookout every night with my husband.
This is me at the last time I was so small!
This was Easter 2006.

I performed really well at this shoot.
It was a National Shoot and came away with 4 Gold and also a place on the National 3D Team which also took out gold.
I also won the very first Female  Gunnedah Sports Person Award

The following year in 2007, Australia was hosting the WORLD TITLES!
I had to take this out! I had to potential to take it out with enough practice and determination.

I purchased a higher poundage bow which meant it was much harder to pull back and remain stable.
So I really got to training to develop some core strength.
I was still doing the Porky walk, do an hour at the gym doing toning and cardio.
I think it was between 2 - 3 hours a day worth of exercise.
Thats a huge amount of time! Who has that kind of time everyday.
The eating program I was on wasn't that great but due to being told what to eat when and having it placed infront of me, it worked for me!
My trainer bought it to my attention that if I went off that program and continued with the exercise I was doing and follow the eating recommendations in a book he told me about, I would loose the extra kilos.
So I went off that program, really never learning a single thing about food after 2 years!
It was the wrong thing to do. I should have just stuck with what I knew.
I started the regain straight away.

I competed in the World Titles and didn't do as well as I hoped.
I came away with a Gold and Silver.
I wanted two Gold!
I was devastated!

I really dont know what happened. I think it was the disappointment in myself with the archery titles, the confusion with my food. I did go back on the program that worked before, but I couldn't get back into the routine off it.
Then things really started going bad with my daughter. She was 12 years old and starting to make all the wrong decisions.
She was breaking my heart! My husband and I fought constantly about what to do about her.
To think back on that time, I have no idea how I survived it.
I had been on medication for anxiety and depression since a Nervous Breakdown in 2003 so I didn't have that to turn to.
I used to go to out patients and cry to them to take the pain away. Please do something so I dont have to worry about her for a few hours.
I think about it now and its still so devastating!
She made every bad decision and suffered every consequence for three years and my weight suffered right along with it.
I told myself its the sacrifice I have to make for my daughter.
She was guarded 24 hours a day for 2 years. We couldn't trust her at any stage to leave the house unsupervised. It all fell to me as my husband had a high pressure job and it was his responsibility to keep the roof over our heads! He couldn't do his job and be guarding Emelia as well.
So there went my routine.
You ask what about when she was at school? Yeh, I was there too. She would escape while at school. I used to stay and help in canteen, or in meetings with teachers.
I was at the school everyday without fail until we pulled her out of that school.

And so it went on.
I turned 40 in 2008.
(My daughter went missing during this party and came home with a no so pleasant surprise!)
It was the reality check she needed to get her life back on track!

In 2009 I started this blog to get my weight back on track.
You will notice, its not a blog of successes but a blog of failures!
Ive tried every diet, even the 12 wbt.

I dont know if my mind has been in the right place, or the stuff with my daughter just destroyed something in my brain, but I just haven't been able to do it.
I haven't been able to get back into that mindset needed to loose this massive amount of weight.

I know I need to plan.
Planning will be the key to this!
On Sundays I will plan! Its the only day I have!
I will shop and cook and get my meals ready as possible for each day that week.
I will get off facebook!
Instead of stalking people that make me have panic attacks, I will work out!
I will prepare my meals for the following day!
It will put me in a more positive mindset and maybe help with my anxiety.

I have my goals and rewards for those goals.
These awards are achievable and I can make them happen, I just need to reach the goal first!

I want to do this this time.
I feel I am in a better place mentally.

I have allowed this blog to be accessed by anyone for the first time since I started it.
I have kept in private til now.
I am embarrased by my weight and it is slowing me down.
I feel myself getting older and slower because of my weight and I refuse to let  that happen!
Now I have had a taste of adventure, I want more of it!
You only get one chance to live your life
and I want to make mine unbelievable!
I have raised my kids.
My daughter is achieving great things now and it is because of my sacrafise.
She is living the life she always dreamed now, so now its my turn!

ITS MY TURN NOW DAMN IT!

THIS TIME IT'S REAL

It seams that this blog is all about documenting failures!
In my aim to document my weight loss achievements,
since 2009 all I have done is document my starts
which indirectly documents my failures!

Not this time!
I have started the 12 WBT Challenge before
and I was successful for a short period of time,
but this time I have plans
and I need to get this weight off to achieve them!
So here we go again, for the last time!

I have tried to prove to myslef time and time again
that being overweight isnt going to stop me from achiveing my goals.
And I came face to face with the truth!
My weight has restricted me from achieving something I wanted to achieve!

I am a little adventurous
and after seeing the New Zealand Challenges on The Biggest Loser
one year,
I thought I would so love to do all those things
I had intended to loose weight for the trip
and chose to use another online dieting program run by another famous personal trainer.
But once I purchased the program and got a look at it,
it was so inspirational.
I didn't even both trying to start it.
Infact, I think I am still paying for it!

I had intended to drop at least a little bit of weight before the trip,
but in fact Im pretty sure I gained 3 kilos!

So we headed to New Zealand and upon the first weight in the do the Tower Jump
I weighed in kitted out at a whopping 119 kilos!
OMG! :(

Here I am.
I cant believe the size of my but!

The next awesome thing I wanted to do was to do the Canyon Swing

Weigh in...

Here was the 'Code" for my weight!
No so subtle

There was one lady that weighed in and she was a itty bitty thing and her code was a flower!
Stuarts was a crazy eyed man cause he was a little scared!
Mine,

Mine was a big fat arse tree trunk!
Like I said, subtle hey!

But I did the Canyon Swing

Frontwards - 2 pooed undies scary...

Here is a link to the Youtube Video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnVMeqTOGio
(Warning: Compromising Language)

And then because it was so much fun!
Then backwards
which is 5 pooed undies scary!

And a link to this vidoe
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=io7NAIJdo-I
(Warning: Compromising Language)

The thing I really wanted to do is Bungy.
I wanted the do the Nevis Bungy.
One of the six highest Bungy's in the World.

But I just didn't feel comfortable about it with my weight.
Not the jump, but being upside down and hanging by my ankles.
I realise you are in a harness, but it doesnt have the coverage that the swing harness has
and I really worried I might injure something at this weight.

Of course, I didn't realise I could have swung off it!
They just promote it as a Bungy!
Had I have know I could have swung of it, I would have done that in the mean time!
But it gives me the drive to need to accomplish my goal.

I want to get back to New Zealand next year and swan dive off this platform!
I also want to paraglide.
My husband did that but I was too heavy
and I also want to jump out of an areoplane and onto a snow topped mounting and ski down.
That gives me around 18 months to loose the weight
and save the money needed to do this all again!

Ive seen so many successes with the 12 WTC.
Ladies heavier than me are loosing tonnes of weight with Michelle's help!
Why cant one of those success stories be mine!

Ive lost 35 kilos twice now and both times have regained it all plus more.
Both times were on a meal program, so I have never been taught to prepare my own meals.

I need to learn about preparation and organisation!
The preparation will have to be a really fast learning curve as I work 5 1/2 days a week and long hours in my own shop.
I dont really have much help at the shop and my dear hubby does the home stuff like shopping and meal preparation as he is also self employed from a home office.
I eat hubbies "Man Food" I call it and although he might put on a few kilos, I put on so much more from those heavy nightly meals.

Sundays will be my shop and preparation days.
I will do ahead of time what I can so i can be organised through the week.

In the first week I would like to loose 5 kilos.
That shouldn't be too hard.
Then I would like to loose a kilo a week.
Until I get under 100 kilos.

It  would be lovely to think that I will have the weight off by Christmas and I honestly hope that I can be taught to organise myself for a maintainable amount of time to achieve this goal.
I know organisation is the KEY to my success!
I need to get off facbeook
and get on the treadmill!

Wish me luck everyone.
I will do my measurements and fitness test tomorrow
Talk soon with some good news hopefully!
